He's Your Problem Now, New York

so i am gonna just go ahead and say it. Frank Wren totally just pulled a motherfucking Jedi Mind Trick on the New York Mets.

"You want our strikeout prone slumping right fielder to create a blackhole in your lineup that keeps you from getting into the playoffs."

"We want your strikeout prone slumping right fielder to create a blackhole in our lineup that keeps us from getting into the playoffs."

so what if Atlanta got the Mets version of Jeff Francoeur in exchange...at least he's finally gone.

truly though, that's gotta be the strangest trade in Atlanta Braves history.

random whiny anti-ESPN post

Not that anyone is unaware of ESPN's Northeastern bias...but when you lead the show with the Red Sox, Yankees, Celtics, UConn, Isiah Thomas (Knicks related), & the NY Giants schedule...well they aren't even bothering to hide it anymore. Why doesn't ESPN dedicate one of their 8 million channels to the rest of the country and turn ESPN to ESPN Northeast? Ugghh. Once baseball season starts my hatred for the WWL gets out of control.

Favre is still Shitty...just so you know

i was gonna write this really long post about Favre's crappy performance last night and how i think that last year was just a big fucking mirage, but those boys over at KSK pretty much nailed it, so i ain't got to much else to add. i bet Chad Pennington and Aaron Rogers were text each other during the game and laughing their asses off.

reason number 5,056,336 i hate ESPN

oooh, a fat douchebag with a Star Wars villain's name is the number one story in baseball. why the fuck do i care that the Yankees' set up man is being made into a starter? why is Joba Chamberlin getting more press than the possible retirement of John Smoltz?! cuz the WWL only cares about the SOX/YANKEES rivalry...even when the Yankees suck this year and the Tampa Bay Rays are in 1st place. the East Coast bias is real bitches.

A Great Way To Spend A Sunday

spent Sunday at the ballpark watching the Braves play the Mets. Smoltz vs. Santana. it was a total pitchers duel for most of the game and then a homer by Teixeira in the 8th put the Braves on top for good. the bullpen still kinda sucks, even though they saved the game. too many walks. too many hits. Kotsay is an upgrade at centerfield this season. the guy makes plays, can hit, and has a fucking cannon. Escobar is gonna be a star. i really like this Braves team if the starting pitching stays healthy (minus Hampton). Smoltz looked good. the Braves took 2 from the Mets this weekend to climb into a tie for first. and best of all i had good seats on a nice cool day and got to see some good pitching and a win. best way to spend your sunday ever.

Drinkin' Some Haterade

so Pedro is on the DL, again... (wait for it) hahahahahahahahahaha!!! whatever, he was throwing 86 mile and hour meat to the Marlins and getting shelled before he hurt his leg. they are probably better off without him. kind of like the Braves would be better off without Glavine. Pedro is fucking done. the guy can't throw with any power anymore and he can't stay healthy. fuck the Mets. you get what you pay for.

It's Opening Day...

...which used to be my favorite time of the year, many moons ago when i was young and less jaded and loved baseball above all other sports. i mean it was my first love. my first game. the thing i could actually play. the one i dreamed of making it as a professional in, until the reality that i was too small, couldn't hit anything faster than 80 miles and hour and couldn't throw a slider set in. but still my love of the game was always pure, that is until we rolled into the 21st century with a Yankees/Red Sox lovefest that could sicken anyone not calling the Northeastern United States his home. followed by Roids Roids Roids coverage by E$PN that suddenly made you not even care who was and who wasn't cheating. and so i abandoned my once perfect game for a simpler and more entertaining sport that had always held a close 2nd for me, college football. regardless baseball still exists and like an ex-girlfriend you dumped, you still think about her now and again. you still hope the Braves can win another World Series before you die. you pray that someway both and Yankees and the Red Sox will miss the playoffs only because the collective miseries of their fanbases would cheer up almost anyone. and you would like to see a team like the Pittsburgh Pirates claw their way into a playoff spot because they were your first team, the first ball park you ever went to, and have suffered for far too long.

here are your top 5 story lines of the 2008 Baseball Season as brought to you by the World Wide Leader in repetitive story lines.
1. Yankees/Redsox
2. Steroids/HGH
3. Can A-Rod perform in the playoffs
4. hey wouldn't it be great if we could get rid of all these other teams and just have Yankees and RedSox games every day?
5. will anyone take a chance on Barry Bonds?

uggghhh. 7 months of this shit brought to me from the mouth of John Kruk every night. when does football season start again?

There's no such thing as the Northeast media bias

no, it's all a myth created by the little people not lucky enough to live in the cities of Boston or New York. that being said ESPN interrupted nearly every story they were doing on Sportscenter to let us all know that Johan Santana was being traded to the Mets. i'm sure they would have given just as much coverage if Santana had been traded to the Mariners. i'm sure.

that being said, the Braves are fucked. The Mets just got that best pitcher in baseball and all the Braves did was add an ancient pitcher (Tom Glavine) and a washed up catcher (Javy Lopez) who are passed their prime and are getting a second chance with the Braves mostly because they were fan favorites. that money could have probably been better spent. oh well. i don't care about baseball anymore anyways.

Eli? Superbowl? REALLY?!?!?!?!

for serious dude, Eli Manning is going to the fucking Superbowl after beating Favre in Greenbay in Arctic conditions....you could really say Favre beat himself with a pick in overtime, but that oversimplifies the whole thing. really all you need to know is Eli is going to the Superbowl. Eli!!! Eli??? Eli!!! oh yeah the New York media can now officially shut the fuck up. and Tiki can go suck a dick.

the Giants have no chance against the Patriots. i don't give a shit what they did in the final week of the season, that was at home, this is gonna be in nice warm weather with the PATRIOTS having had two weeks to prepare for a team they already beat once. i'm guessing it's a blowout on the level of that 49ers/Broncos Superbowl. but still, Eli is in the Superbowl and your team's shitty overrated QB isn't.

Bud Selig is spinning in his grave

HaHaHaHaHa. The Yankees, Phillies, and Cubs all lose. You know Bud Selig and MLB are totally losing their shit over a worst case scenario of the Colorado Rockies in the World Series, especially if it's against a team like The Indians (who totally dominated the Yankees last night). Both the Cubs and Phillies (two of the oldest and losingest clubs in all of baseball) sit on the verge of being swept by expansion teams...just the sort of thing that used to piss me off as a baseball fan, but now just makes me laugh myself retarded. more than likely the Red Sox will cruise into the American League Championship series and face a young Cleveland club that will be spent from a 5 game series with New York and will get swept and then it'll be that sexy Boston/Arizona world series we've all been dreaming of. at that point ESPN will probably just stop covering the thing. no story lines for them to masturbate over, ya know. noone cares about the Red Sox anymore after they finally won it all. now their just another baseball team with the most obnoxious fanbase in all of baseball. if i was picking a team to root for then it would be Cleveland. they are a long suffering franchise like the Cubs, but minus all the bullshit excuses and crybaby curses and all that other crap. so yeah, Go Indians!

What The Fuck Do You Have To Do To Get Fired In New York?

So Isiah Thomas cost the Knicks and Madison Square Garden 11 Million bucks (not to mention he's a terrible GM and Coach) and yet he keeps his job. Willie Randoph let the Mets complete the greatest (or worst depending on if your a glass half full or half empty kind of guy) late season collapse in major league history...and yet he is keeping his job. I have a feeling that if Joe Torre goes out and gets swept in the 1st round of the playoffs he'll still keep his fucking job too. Hell Tom Coughlin should've been fired by the Giants last year, if only cuz his players all fucking hate him, but NO! he kept his job and they'll probably pull off another 8-8 season. What the hell is wrong with New York City right now? fucking fire somebody goddamn it!
