so much for Cyrus Kan'tbotherlookinguphowtospellhisfuckingname.
that 5 star tackle dude picked Bama instead. whatever. Auburn still has a top offensive line class and a top 10 recruiting class by all the major sites that rank that sorta thing. when's Spring practice start?

recruiting is like crack: 2011 edition

national signing day is upon us. so far Auburn has landed 24 recruits. there’s always a possibility of them adding another player but likely this will be the class. Auburn’s only loss was 4 star Linebacker/Runningback Brent Calloway who decided to choose Alabama over Auburn.
the real prize of the day was when Auburn landed the #1 offensive tackle in the country, Cyrus Kouandjio (noone in Auburn is going to be able to pronounce that dudes last name. just sayin’). that gives Auburn by far the best offensive line class in the country to go with the #4 tackle, #3 guard, and #1 center. hopefully this is a group Auburn can build another title around.
some other guys to be excited about are 5 star linebacker Kris Frost, 4 star runningbacks Quan Bray and Tre Mason, QB Khiel Frazier, and the best defensive back class in the nation headed by Jermaine Whitehead…and after last season if there is anything Auburn needs worse than anything are some fucking DBs who can cover.
Auburn will likely end up with another top 10 and possibly top 5 class once the day is done. i expected a lot of these kids to be playing next season as true freshmen with all of Auburn’s player losses and with the lack of depth thanks to Tuberville’s weak recruiting classes in his final two years. but 2 straight years of solid recruiting from Chizik and his staff let us all know that Auburn is going to be back in the SEC and BCS title hunt sooner rather than later.
so let's celebrate with a gratuitous picture of Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly) in her underwear.

War Damn Eagle
update. currently Auburn is ranked #7 by Rivals, #1 by Scout, and #2 by ESPN but i guess that 5 star tackle dude whose name i can't pronounce is waffling on his choice of the TIgers. i'm gonna go ahead and assume he's gonna sign elsewhere. regardless it's a solid class that added some much needed talent on the offensive line and in the secondary.

Auburn lands another QB who spells his name weird.

what is it about Auburn signing QBs with unusual spellings? Kodi, Tyrik, and now a Kiehl. hopefully this one works out better than the other two. so yeah i've been out of the loop a bit of late but stud recruit Kiehl Frazier committed to the Tigers this weekend. he was Auburn's #1 target and is ranked in the top 4 QBs in the nation. he's a dual threat and seems like a natural fit for the Auburn offense. Gus Malzahn was the key factor in Frazier picking Auburn over home state Arkansas and about 30 other DI schools (including LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, UCLA, and way more than i feel like naming). so again, keeping Malzahn around for another season will also be key for Auburn holding onto Frazier because if Gus skips town after the season for a head coaching job (seriously this is gonna be a source of anxiety every year regarding our offensive guru) then all bets are off. but right now we've got him.

Fuck the NCAA
Nice new bullshit rule that keeps outside the box recruiting practices like Auburn's Tiger Prowl from existing. Fuck the NCAA, fuck em forever. You know what, I DO hope we get some super confrences and I hope they all vote to tell the NCAA to go fuck themselves and start their own football league. The NCAA is the most useless organized body in the known universe.

FUCK YEAH RECRUITING!!!!!!
you did good Chiz, you did good.
Auburn is currently ranked #3 in the country by rivals, ahead of ALL their major rivals in Alabama, LSU, UGA, & the rest of the SEC...other than Florida. they kept all their major commitments and hauled in three 5 Star Studs. if Auburn can pull in another class like this next year then there is no reason not to believe that a National Championship might actually fucking happen in our lifetime...and on Gene Chizik's fucking watch?! but i promise not to get too carried away about this sorta thing. they are just high school kids who have yet to play a down of college football but seriously with THIS much talent coming in...it's hard not to see things looking anywhere but up. if the Tigers can just hold on to their coveted offensive guru for another year then i might actually say 2011 could be Auburn's year...finally. oh to dream.
i don't know enough about recruiting to do silly things like grade the class. all i care is that Auburn found an uber-talented runningback, a HUGE BEAST LIKE QB who can start right away, lots of solid linebackers, some talented WR's, and tons of beef on the offensive and defensive lines. i would say that all needs were met. sure it would've been nice to add another one of those 5 star backs that we were after, but Dyer has been the guy since word go who wanted to come here and i see him becoming a super star. besides....we got this dude as insurance just in case:
marvel at Ladarious Phillips, your new 6 foot 1 275 pound wrecking ball for goalline stands.

2Morrow 2Morrow, i'll love you 2morrow
thank god signing day is almost here. my brain had been shutting down with lack of football related business. so far Auburn's class seems pretty locked up. Coleman and Lattimore seem to be going elsewhere...along with DJ Howard. hopefully Auburn keeps everyone else and maybe lands a surprise or two. regardless they seem ready to end up with a top 10 or even top 5 class. more thoughts tomorrow after it's all said and done.

Please Don't Steal My Laptop, I Need It For This Stupid Blog
Happy New Year, indeed Auburn fans. We got ourselves a legit QB for the 2010 season after Cam Newton officially commited yesterday. AWESOME! So yeah Auburn instantly becomes a possible SEC West contender just by landing the 5 star dual threat beast of a QB to run the Spread Eagle (it really never gets old saying that.)
Yes Cam Newton comes with some baggage, but honestly I could give a shit, he gives the Tigers a better shot of winning the next two seasons than we would've had. It also gives Rollison extra time to get his shit together or for Auburn to groom another QB in two seasons. Either way the Tigers enter 2010 without the biggest question mark of all hanging over their head for the first time in 2 years.
War Eagle.

More Awesome Recruiting News

Trovon Reed committed to the Tigers. he's the number 3 WR in the nation and is apparently a burner. he's Auburn's second highest ranked recruit and has the Tigers currently with a Top 10 class according to Rivals. but you're probably an Auburn fan and already know all this shit. whatever, it's still rad. so just a couple more linemen and maybe a 2nd 5 star runningback and then maybe a surprise or two on signing day and then The Chiz can put a bow on a very impressive recruiting class after his 1st year as a headcoach at Auburn. i may have used some dirty words and threatened to throw myself off the Sears Tower when he got the headcoaching job, but there's no denying the man has done some awesome things this year. i'll drink a couple of beers in your honor tonight, Coach. just make sure you get us a win tomorrow.
the obvious youtube highlights for your ass. complete with some crappy rap song i've never heard before. seriously kids, when soundtracking your highlight videos think about things like song choice. just look at Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino...those dudes aren't fuckin' around with some halfasses Young Jeezy ripoff.

My First and Most Likely Last Auburn Basketball Recruiting Post
Friday, November 6, 2009
Dyer a Tiger, not a shocker, but still rad.
so it's official (at least the verbal, "i'm coming to your school" part) that the nation's #1 or #3 runningback in the nation, Michael Dyer (depending on whose guru ratings you hold as most true) is going to be an Auburn Tiger next season. obviously this is the biggest get on the recruiting trail that Auburn has landed since....well honestly i can't think of an Auburn player is highly rated as Dyer in recent memory.
he's 5 foot 8 and 201...built kinda like a taller version of Maurice Jones-Drew (rivals compares him to Joe Morris), so a bowling ball of muscle and power that should be exciting to watch over the next few seasons. to everyone who has been paying attention to Auburn's recruiting efforts this isn't a big surprise...but it is something that might get other targets excited about coming to play for the Tigers.

A Public Service Announcement
Hey Recruit,
Were you a Husky boy as a child?
Do you consider yourself a 4th mealer or a 5th mealer?
If someone was trying to take your food would you be able to knock that person down with ease?
Do you enjoy the color orange? Does it make you think of Halloween which makes you think of candy?
Would sex with a woman be considered a lethal act?
Would you be able to engage in physical activity for several hours, once a week, without dying?
if you answered YES to most or all of these then Come on down to Auburn, Alabama and become a Tiger. it's in the South, so you know the food is good.

Auburn gets a BIG commit today. Puns are for idiots.

Four Star offensive tackle and former FSU commit, Aubrey Phillips, just became a Tiger today. apparently he showed up at FSU a little bit on the FAT MOTHERFUCKER side and got picked on by his coach about the extra weight until he said, "Fuck You Man, I'm Outta Here." and now he's at Auburn. so yeah it's a bit worrisome the way he ends up at Auburn, but still he was a 4 star offensive line recruit at a position of need for the Tigers. even if he has to sit out the year to get in shape, it's still a smart move to add a big body like his.
so yeah, some awesome news. now back to trying to find that video of Erin Andrews undressing in her hotel room.

Auburn Hooks It's First Big Fish

so looks like BIG CAT WEEKEND has given it's first results as 4 Star Wide Receiver (and one of the top players in the state of Alabama) Jeremy Richardson made his verbal commitment to Auburn today. so that's one future playmaker down and about 8 more to go. he's a big/tall WR (6 foot 4, 220) with a descent 40 time (4.5) and could be a redzone threat in the SPREAD EAGLE 2.
the usual youtube video
so yay! Auburn's 5th commitment of the 2010 class and it's highest rated player yet. HIGH FIVES all the way around the internet.

i've been sleeping on the job: BIG CAT WEEKEND was apparently THE AWESOME!
see this is what happens when you quit paying attention to football for a week.
Auburn held their 1st ever BIG CAT WEEKEND at Auburn, hosting some of the top football players in the nation in an effort to land a top 10 recruiting class for 2010. here's a list of players that were there...a lot of 4 and 5 stars are on that. for more info about this just read all the other Auburn blogs.
one can only hope that this recruiting momentum carries on during the season and no matter what happens on the field that Coach Chizik and his staff can land a class that at least matches the other heavy weights in the SEC. obviously Alabama, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia are also going to have top rated classes...let's just hope our Tigers can say the same.

Urban Meyer Need To Keep Our Name Out His Mouf

i guess when your program is good at two things, winning national titles and losing to the Auburn Tigers you feel the need to way in on their recruiting practices. a reporter asked Urban Meyer what he thought about Auburn's "Tiger Prowl" and the coach responded with this little quote,
"We're trying to sell graduation rates and academics and (they're) trying the sing and dance routine.
"The Florida coaching staff will not be riding around in limos or ripping off our shirts."
he also said the NCAA should ban the use of limos. he had nothing to say about the 22 players who have been arrested at the University of Florida since he's gotten their...but nobody cares about discipline when you are winning. what a douche. he's probably still mad that Brandon Cox owns Tim Tebow.
