so the NBA playoffs are about to get underway shortly and Atlanta has earned themselves the number 4 seed in the East and a home series. everyone who thought the Hawks playoff birth last season was a fluke (you can count me in that group) was totally wrong. yeah the Eastern Conference kinda sucks after the top 3 teams, but Atlanta has been pretty consistent all year and has beaten some of the best teams in the NBA. unfortunately their opponent in the 1st round is the Miami Heat lead by Dwayne Wade who has been on fire all season following his awesome performance in the Olympics. i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume everyone is gonna disrespect the Hawks and pick the Heat to win this series. i'm just hoping that Atlanta can bring the same kind of energy during this series that they did last year vs. Boston (considering Atlanta was the only team that seriously challenged the eventual champs).

If the referees treat Wade like they did in the 2006 NBA finals, the the Hawks won't have a chance. Wade shot 250 free throws in 23 playoff games - 97 attempts in the 6 finals games, including 25 and 21 attempts in games 5 and 6.
There is nothing about NBA officiating this year that leads me to believe they won't just start the game with Wade at the free throw stripe and let him hoist 50 attempts.
