well that was a hell of a way to get the 2009 season started as the Braves pounded 3 homeruns in the 1st two innings and then Derek Lowe mowed through the Phillies lineup to get Atlanta the first win of the year. call me impressed by Lowe, who i thought was a bad move on Atlanta's part to give such a big contract to, obviously if he pitches like this all year then he's worth every penny. also way to go Jordan Shafer in getting a homerun in your first major league at bat. i'm always optimistic about Atlanta to start the season, let's just hope the Braves can make it through the first month alive and i might actually watch some baseball this year. although i hope the bullpen doesn't plan on trying to make every single 4 run lead that interesting in the 9th.
