I Loved Me Some Air McNair

Steve McNair's greatest moment came in a loss in the Super Bowl on the final drive as he escapes both Rams' defensive ends, breaks a tackle and fires a bullet to Kevin Dyson. and in Spanish no less....

the very next play the Titans came up inches short of completing the greatest game winning drive in history (yeah, fuck John Elway and Big Ben). i was rooting hard for Tennessee in this game, not because i was much of a Titans fan...but because i always loved Steve McNair from back during his college days. ESPN would randomly show some Alcorn State games during his final college season and i'd always check him out. if the Titans don't retire his number in week 1 then i will be shocked.

stay away from crazy women.

Pour Out a 40 for David Carradine

David Carradine was found dead today in his Bangkok hotel room...apparently from hanging himself, once again proving that if i liked you a lot (Kurt Cobain, Hunter S. Thompson, Elliott Smith, Cleopatra, etc...) then you are probably killing yourself.

Carradine is of course most famous for his role on the show Kung Fu which i watched in rerun with my dad and most recently he was Bill in KILL BILL I & II...but for me his most memorable roll is and will always be as Frankenstein in the sci fi classic DEATH RACE 2000.

if you've never seen it then do yourself a favor and add it to your Netflix Que tonight.

*update*
guess i spoke to soon thinking it was a suicide. seems David pulled a Michael Hutchence. let that be lesson for all you masturbaters out there...combining jackin' off with choking yourself never turns out good.

*update again*
Now they're saying it could be a murder. I'm just gonna stop speculating because this shit is more complicated than a good episode of CSI. The man died, it is tragic, he ruled. The end.

The Sex Boat Cruise Finally Ends For You, Captain

pour a 40 out today friends for the once mighty career of Quarterback Dante Culpepper.

Dante called it quits today after noone, not even the fucking Chiefs with Brody Croyle's sorry ass, were interested in giving him a shot to be their starting QB. dude didn't even give Canada a try. it's hard to believe that a guy with his kind of talent is done. oh well.

Pour One Out For Skip

so i guess longtime Atlanta Braves announcer Skip Caray decided it was a better idea to die than to endure the rest of this pathetic season. good call. but seriously this is sad shit. Skip was by far my favorite Braves announcer and it's good that he died a peaceful death in his sleep this weekend and wasn't like eaten alive by army ants or something equally as horrible.

A Damn Good Dawg

indeed. Uga VI was buried yesterday at the stadium. i thought about going and watching from the bridge. but pet funerals are way sadder than those for humans and it's not okay for a grown man to cry in public.

God Kills My Favorite Angry Old Man

one of my all time favorite comedians and callers of bullshit, George Carlin, died this weekend. all your heroes will one day die. this is a sad fact of life.

since this is a sports blog, here's a clip of Carlin's Baseball vs. Football bit. i'm sure every other single sports blog will post this exact same clip, but whatever. it's fucking classic.

Bo Don't Know Diddley

pour a 40 out tonight for blues legend Bo Diddley kids. he got ripped off by Buddy Holly and the Rolling Stones and he never got the respect he deserved. the jesus and mary chain wrote a song called "Bo Diddley is Jesus", you should go find that song and listen to it right now. he also wrote a song called "Bo Diddley" and that's always kinda awesome. and for you people who grew up in the 80s and 90s he was in my favorite Bo Knows commerical ever. enjoy.

My First and LAST Chess Post...EVER

The search for Bobby Fischer has ended friends...and looks like he's dead. i know nothing about chess, but i really liked that movie when it came out. Bobby Fischer beat the Russians, so that means he goes up there with Rocky and the Patrick Swayze lead Wolverines in the pantheon of great Americans. Fischer died in a Reykjavik hospital on Thursday of kidney failure. poor a 40 out for your brother while you are drinking and celebrating your freedom tonight fool.
